MWOP 3 Remastered

Hands down the most family friendly, 'MOR' episode of the Music Without Perspective franchise, MWOP 3 shone through as the top-circulated Tom Brown cassette of the era. Earthlings in their twenties -- similarly immature as presenters Ken Valpariso and Vince Westby -- blurted this episode forthrightly from their crank-down car windows while at red lights during the Carter administration. 

 

Speaking from a retirement community in North-Easterly Southwest Timonium, co-host Ken Westby recounts that MWOP 3 was recorded the week before Christmas 1977. As 1978 dawned the master tape was racked up in studio B for a final mix when, a few SOPs (Segments of Patter) were deemed flat, unmirthful, staid, solemn and unribtickling. Translation?  Uh, lacking any ha ha. Holy Burger King onions, not even Bel Losmonday could save the day!

 

Sooooo, it was decided to do the show all over again and not tell our mommies and daddies. The final edit -- the one posted here -- was skillfully jigsawed together using a Joel Tall splice block (yo, Google him) in '78 from the choice chunks of both the 1977 and 1978 shows. Not even Vince and Ken were the wiser! 

 

Vince Valpariso, if you're listening here in 2025, your 2 cents is sorely and pussidly welcomed. And per chance you have some Ampex 406 laying around?
